Our Work and Impact

Explore several examples of past work, our approach, and impact.

Data Analysis and Reporting

The Challenge: Team did not have a sense of the return on their investment or clear outcomes for a portfolio of programs.

The Approach: Conducted a cost-benefit analysis across programs, including degree to which each program is measuring clear outcomes and analyzing costs across programs.

The Impact: Led to a consolidation of programs based on those with the strongest measurable outcomes for school staff and students and most cost-effective.

Resource and Toolkit Creation

The Challenge: Massachusetts did not offer any professional learning for paraeducators, a growing and critical workforce across the state.

The Approach: Conducted statewide focus groups with hundreds of paraeducators, teachers, and school administrators to better understand the learning needs of paraeducators. Analyzed this data to design a project plan, leading to the creation of seven no-cost on-line learning modules for paraeducators.

The Impact: Paraeducator e-learning modules are used by thousands of paraeducators across Massachusetts to help onboard new hires and provide continued learning for more veteran paraeducators.

District Reviews and Progress Monitoring

The Challenge: Superintendent of a mid-size urban district wanted an outside perspective on the learning environment and tiered systems of support across district middle schools.

The Approach: Designed a rubric and conducted site visits to each middle school, including classroom observations, staff focus groups/conversations, student focus groups, and meeting observations. Presented aggregate strengths and areas of growth across all middle schools to superintendent and principals.

The Impact: Superintendent was better able to make critical staffing decisions for the next school year, in order to support student learning and outcomes.
